As well as hockey training and games, a key part of our club is the social side. As we have players with such a wide range of ages and backgrounds, (from schoolgirls to grannies, policewomen to accountants) it's certainly never boring!

We try to have at least one weekend away each year. In 2009/10 this included trips to Morpeth, near Newcastle, and up north to Aberdeen.

We also organise regular nights out and nights in, for fun and fundraising. This includes events such as pub crawls and race nights, bowling, Wii nights and the odd cardboard boat race to ensure that there's always something for everyone to enjoy. Some of us even took part in a the recent Edinburgh 10k - although the rest were happy just to cheerlead!
